Toddler takes first steps moments before his leg gets amputated

This sad story proves that a mother's intuition is hardly ever wrong.
Fifteen-month-old Oliver Price took his first steps at the children's ward of the Royal Manchester Hospital just hours before his left leg had to be amputated. The toddler's leg became deformed due to a rare nerve tumour called Plexiform schwannoma, Daily mail reported.
His mother, Hayley, said that she noticed something was wrong with his leg after he was born, but only managed to get a diagnosis when he was six months old.
In the same interview, Hayley mentioned that she noticed two red spots on Oliver's left leg when he was born, but was told that it was nothing to worry about each time she inquired about them. When they became lumpy, she pushed for him to get tested, only to find out that he had a non-cancerous tumour and needed to have his leg amputated.
She also explained that she wants to share her son's story to raise awareness and send a message to other parents to never give up when they think something is wrong with their children.
The family was told that there is a high chance that the toddler could develop more tumours as he grows up, therefore he will need constant monitoring.
