As the longest-serving news anchor in the history of the public broadcaster the SABC, Afrikaans newscaster Riaan Cruywagen has been a part of many South Africans' lives growing up.
Given his being on air for at 37 years when he announced his retirement from the public broadcaster two years ago, few were surprised at the announcement, but Cruywagen would soon return to our television screens on Kyknet.
