Comedian attempts to cry for record-breaking 100 hours

This was not without its challenges and side effects as he lost vision temporarily at one point...

There's always someone trying to break a weird and wacky world record somewhere in the world.

This time, it was a Nigerian comedian and content creator.

The only difference was that instead of making his audience cry with laughter, he was the one left crying.

Not because he was sad, but because that was the world record he was trying to break.

"A Nigerian comedian and content creator allegedly lost his sight for about 45 minutes after sobbing for hours in an attempt to cry for 100 hours and set a world record for the longest time crying continuously." (Oddity Central)

Tembu Daniel goes by the name 237_towncryer on Instagram and he decided it was time to live up to his name.

He started his 'cry-athon' well, but his attempt was unexpectedly interrupted by harsh side effects.

As he attempted to cry continuously, he was greeted with headaches, puffed eyes, and a generally swollen face - and the most worrying side effect was partial blindness.

Although Daniel posted his world record attempt on social media, he didn't actually contact the Guinness World Records about his attempt.

Instead, he just tagged them in the post. According to the publication, Oddity Central, it was for the best as they said that they would have not monitored such a record.

"Even if he failed his target of 100 hours of continuous crying, Tembu Daniel definitely got the attention he was craving, as his unique record attempt made international news headlines and went viral on social media." (Oddity Central)
