The "dad" way of doing an Easter egg hunt
Updated | By Jacaranda FM/Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
This seems like a really fun way to do Easter egg hunts...

Dads have a way of turning up the fun. Their parenting style often allows them to bend the rules a little, showing kids a different perspective, and usually getting everyone laughing.
We came across a video that reimagines the traditional Easter egg hunt in a way that feels very South African.
Think of it as a twist on touch rugby… except instead of chasing a ball, the kids chase their dads.
And instead of scoring tries, they’re grabbing Easter eggs taped to their fathers’ shirts.
We’ve got to give credit where it’s due – this creative Easter egg hunt idea may have featured the dads as the targets, but it was the moms who came up with the plan to make things more fun.
In the video shared on social media, three dads are seen with Easter egg treats taped to their shirts, and it quickly becomes clear: this is no ordinary hunt. This one calls for strategy, speed, and a whole lot of laughter.
The dads were sent running into the garden, and moments later, the kids were unleashed to chase them down and snatch as many eggs as they could.
It’s a brilliant, high-energy twist on the classic Easter tradition.
And the best part? It gets the whole family involved.
