Man inserts car key chip into his hand so he never loses it
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
A YouTuber recently got a tiny chip installed into his arm so that he can unlock his Tesla with the wave of a hand.
With the age of advanced and intelligent driving, it comes as no surprise that some people want to go that extra mile to accommodate life's technologies.
One such person is Brandon Dalaly, a YouTuber who has done something quite 'far-out'.
He created a whole new meaning to finding a convenient place to store your car keys.
Dalaly recently posted a video on his Twitter account showing how he got a tiny chip inserted into his right hand.
The chip allows him to unlock, lock, and operate his Tesla with a wave of his hand.
It cost him $400 (R6,800) and a trip to a piercing artist, and, voila, a technically capable hand.
The professional piercer implanted a VivoKey Apex chip into the side of his palm.
"A VivoKey Apex chip is a contactless chip that is coated a biocompatible substance, so it is completely safe to insert under the skin. The chip uses similar technology to payWave and Apple Pay, using near-field near-field communication (NFC) to ping receptors in the door of his Tesla." (Unilad)
