A Utah woman who published a book on grief just a year after the passing of her husband has been charged with his murder.

Sounds like something out of a mystery novel...

'Kouri Richins, a mother of three, called police late one night in March 2022 and said her husband, Eric Richins, was "cold to the touch". She told authorities she had made her husband a mixed vodka drink before finding him unresponsive hours later.' (BBC News)

We're uncertain as to whether it was all part of the plot to write the grief book, but it sure came with a host of suspicious activities.

It was reported that between the months of December 2021 and February 2022, she was in communication with a person who had been convicted for the possession of drugs.

She has allegedly asked for the 'Michael Jackson drug', fentanyl. This was one of the drugs that was found in Michael Jackson's body at the time of his death.

'Three days after Ms Richins allegedly obtained the drugs, she and her husband had a Valentine's Day dinner, after which he fell ill. "Eric believed that he had been poisoned," the court documents said. "Eric told a friend that he thought his wife was trying to poison him.' (BBC News)

The charges for her husband's murder came just two months after she published a picture book for children that helps with grief. The book is entitled. 'Are you with me?'.

MORE FROM JACARANDA FM

In an interview with a radio station a month before her charges, she said: "We wrote this book and we're really hoping that it provides some comfort for not just obviously, our family, but other families that are going through the same thing." (BBC News)

What's even worse is that she dedicated the book to her husband saying, "My amazing husband and a wonderful father".
