The hazards of working on an action movie
This cameraman has all the makings of a stuntman...
Cameramen are truly prized possessions on a film set, they are also an undervalued asset on a film set.
We don't get to see the action they have to endure to get the best shots; those shots that we expect when we are watching an action movie.
Over the years there have been many inventions that have helped them perform more efficiently in their jobs, but that doesn't mean that you can just sit and expect the shot to film itself.
We saw a video of a cameraman who ran after the actor or stuntman as he ran across an ice structure.
As the actor ran, the cameraman ran after, making the same leaps as the actor. But boom, before we could say, 'Jason Bourne', he fell over.
That's the thing about getting those close-up action shots, it takes real stamina and fearlessness.
