You have to keep a piece of your culture alive when you are away from home.

Happy extra Heritage Day to our fellow South Africans.

There is nothing like celebrating your roots with friends and family.

Heritage Day is a great reminder for us to always practice gratitude when it comes to our unique and quite diverse culture.

There are many South Africans who are living away from home and miss the small things that we sometimes take for granted.

And we came across a video that showed what one of them did to stay connected to their home country.

Of course, it takes a South African to recognise a fellow South African - and we think that is what happened here.

We don't want to write much more about it because it is self-explanatory.

Please note that this video is meant to entertain and not to upset anyone.

MORE FROM JACARANDA FM

What was really cool to find out was one of the commenters named Chef Wadia, who is also South African, recognised the car and said it was her friend, Kevin Van Niekerk.

She also said: "My Friends Devon and Tamlyn in New York also has a BMW with BLIKSEM."

Classic examples of how when you are home these things may not be appreciated, but when you live away from home, it makes all the difference in feeling connected to a part of your heritage.
