What is the highest level you have reached while playing any arcade game?

Gaming enthusiasts spend hours trying to master their favourite games: learning how to use the controls to their advantage and finding new ways to score the most amount of points as possible. It can be dismissed as the pointless pursuit of children or unemployed people who have inordinate amounts of spare time, but in reality, gaming is a very lucrative industry.

Just ask recently crowned Tetris world champion Joseph Sealee, who dethroned sitting champion Jonas Neubauer by reaching level 29 in what was a very intense stand-off.

The 16-year-old Sealee tries to keep a straight face in the final minutes of the game but it is clear from his heavy breathing that this game means a lot to him.

The commentator alludes to the power of the game of Tetris when he says: "Without a game like this, this 16-year-old boy from California never would have had an experience like this."

The camaraderie in the room and the adrenaline rush from winning a game against someone much older and more accomplished than himself (Neubauer has won the championship seven times before) drive Sealee to tears. At that moment the game was much more than just a silly brick-laying simulation - despite what others may think.

Other gamers congratulated Sealee on his level 29, 934,880 point win.

Doesn't this make you want to dig out your old gaming consoles?
