Motorists felt some relief at the petrol pumps this week when the fuel price decreased by 22c a litre for petrol and 40c a litre for diesel.

In today's economy, every cent saved is a cent celebrated. People have adopted a 'we'll take what we can get' approach, and we cannot say we blame them.

A viral video has people laughing - not just because it's funny, but because it hits too close to home. It perfectly captures how tight things are these days, when even filling up your tank feels like a luxury purchase.

A petrol attendant recorded the driver of a Kia Picanto leaving a BP petrol station after filling his car with just R20.10 petrol. This got him 0.867 litres of fuel, which is under one litre.

The attendants couldn't help but laugh at the driver's minimal refuel which, to the driver's credit, he still paid for.

Petrol stations have become targets for motorists who drive off without paying, a crime that puts the onus on petrol attendants and owners.

This crime has caused many petrol stations to ask for money or payment upfront, which has caused some unrest among customers. Read more about it here

In this case, it may have been funny to see what some drivers are doing to keep their vehicles moving.
