WATCH: Tesla confused by horse and carriage
A video of a Tesla vehicle driving behind a horse and carriage reveals that the Tesla is left confused, unable to identify the horse and carriage on its system.
We have been left in awe when it comes to smart technology and the capabilities of the future of AI.
But somehow there will always be that part of us that believes that human interaction will always, always trump technology.
And rightfully so, because as much as you can programme something to mimic what humans do, there's no fool-proof way of guaranteeing that any algorithm will be able to 'think' like the human mind.
Proof of this was seen when a driver seat perspective of a Tesla vehicle was shown.
The on-board computer was unable to recognise the form of transportation in front of it.
It happened to be a person riding a horse and carriage. And the computer shows its confusion by its constant fluctuation between images of what the vehicle could be.
The computer goes back and forth in attempting to identify the form of transportation. It even picks up a truck and trailer with a person walking behind it.
You see, the thing is no matter how much we can advance in technology, the need for human interaction is always going to be at the crux of everything.
Nothing outweighs that. Clearly, the developers forgot to factor in the 'simplistic' lifestyle, in this case, Amish country.
