Would you like a coffin with your purchase, sir?

This is very random, but also something we will all eventually need...
When we hear about wholesalers in South Africa, we immediately think about the ease and convenience of being able to visit one place when shopping.
Of course the special prices and reductions are a great draw card, but it certainly is 'convenient' when you have all the things you need under one roof.
It saves time and essentially allows you to save money...
But what happens when you see something that wasn't on the list, do you take it anyway because you see the need for it, or do you walk away because it was not on the list?
Even worse, what if that something is something you never imagined you needed or wanted to shop for...
One of the largest retailers in the world doesn't have time to play games when it comes to their range of goods.
And this was clear when a TikTok video shows a person shopping and then coming across a casket selection.
The shopper who shared the video was visiting the Costco at the North Lakes store near Brisbane in Australia. In the video, a person is seen walking through the store, only to come across a display stand of coffins.
Now we admit that this did seem quite arb at first, even a bit morbid, too. But the store has been stocking them since 2015.

Many people have shared their somewhat mixed views about the display. Some finding it funny, whilst others feel it is anything but tasteful.
Perhaps then this can be deemed as successful marketing? Posting something that you never thought you needed in front of you, like the chocolate bar section as you queue to pay for your goods.
