This is a pandemic in itself, kids and online gaming...

Online gaming has become somewhat of a norm with kids these days, which poses a challenge for parents.
Because things can spiral quickly when your child becomes overly influenced by the online world.
This was evident when a teenage girl, who is said to be addicted to online mobile gaming, spent her family's savings online.
"The anonymous high school pupil from the Henan province in central China allegedly took the money from her mother’s bank account over a four-month period." (MSN)
The 13-year-old's teacher made the discovery after she noticed that her student was quite attached to her smartphone.
After informing the young girl's mother, she was prompted to check her bank balance and found that she only had R1.33 in her bank account.

Dad came in and questioned her about the money, and she caved explaining what she had used the money for.
The young girl admitted that she spent R323,163 on the games, R561,330 on in-game purchases, and R267,355 on games for 10 of her fellow pupils, which gives a total of R1,151,848.
"The youngster explained that she did not know anything about money or where it originated from, so when she spotted a debit card at home, she just linked it to her smartphone. She also recalls her mother providing her the password to the card in case she needed money when they were not around." (MSN)
