'Mile 8' delves into the details behind the dishes that made David Higgs who he is today. From the story behind catching his first fish to the perfect snoek and apricot recipe, 'Mile 8' is a testament to a man who waded through it all to rise to the top.
"It's inspired from all the chefs that I have worked with and creating incredible dishes and stories with," Higgs said. The book is dedicated to Higgs' father, "he is the one person I never got to cook for. That is where my love started for cooking, fishing with him."

The book also touches on his time at the heart of South Africa’s lush Winelands, and culminates at Marble, a culinary tour de force in the heart of Johannesburg.

Caught the tail end of the launch of @David_Higgs’s marvellous new book #Mile8; @Marble_SA awash with badly behaved cyclists, sporting socialites and radio heavies. Real star of the show? The book. Don’t waste time getting a copy - something special. pic.twitter.com/LiegR6i3R7
