We rarely ever have the time to willing step into a long queue. Most of the time we are always rushing and moan about the lack of cashiers when it comes to our shopping.

Which is why online shopping is such a great thing for many people.

Not only is it convenient for a generation of rushers, but it is also diminishes the need to stand in long queues and get frustrated.

But this Dutch supermarket, Jumbo, is looking at things from a different perspective.

Where people usually look to find a short line at the supermarket, they are investing their time in creating a long one.

They have implemented something that they call, Slow Checkout Lanes.

The aim here is to give the elderly, lonely, and often unseen members of society a place to be seen.

After the company did beta testing at some of their stores, and found how successful it was, they decided to implement it in over 200 of their stores.

They really are flipping the script on the whole grocery shopping experience.

And there’s a real part of us that wishes we could do more of this without society rolling their eyes.
