Snacking is one part of the day that most people look forward to.

But striking a fair balance between a snack that is healthy and tasty can sometimes be trying for some.

You won't find many choosing a healthy snack over an unhealthy one, well, you might, but asking a kid to eat something healthy over something sweet could be a big challenge.

They say the best way to teach your kids good eating habits is to mirror good eating habits.

It seems this toddler either saw someone else do this or discovered a way of sneaking into the leftovers. Her mother caught her Cinnabon-handed standing inside the fridge.

The funniest part of it all was the way the child froze when she was caught, it was as if she thought if she stayed still her mother wouldn't notice her in the fridge.

It's normal for kids to migrate towards sugary snacks over healthy ones, but staying on top of encouraging a healthy diet for our children is our responsibility.

One of the main tips to follow when encouraging healthy snacking is to refrain from categorising snacks into 'healthy' and 'unhealthy' snacks.

Also, being good role models is vital. If your child sees you eating snacks that are high in sugar, salt, and fat then they are going to want to eat that too.

Set time for meals and snacks, without any distractions like TV, gaming, toys, or books. Meal time is meal time, this also helps kids become more mindful when they are eating and what they are eating.
