Mom shares handy baby hack for first-time parents
Updated | By The Workzone with Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp
The things we learn from mothers online are truly invaluable...
Being a first-time mom can be daunting. Not knowing if you are doing things 'correctly' or not and feeling uneasy because all you want is the best for your child.
It is for this reason that it is always a welcomed pleasure to see mothers (and fathers) share their 'first-time parent hacks'.
One mom shared something super valuable on TikTok that she wished she knew as a first-time mother.
When newborns become infants, their level of curiosity increases, not to mention their mobility.
Sometimes, as much as that is super exciting to witness, it can also be dangerous. This is because in the blink of an eye, your child could roll over at any time. "According to the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC), unintentional injuries are one of the leading causes of death among children aged 1 to 14 in South Africa." (4akid)
To avoid the fear of them falling and worse, injuring themselves, this mother shared a simple but effective hack that keeps your baby in one place.

Also, this mom's suggestion is just that, a suggestion, we just found it quite interesting and wanted to share.
- "My toddler would be running around with a pillow velcro’d to her back"
- "I just put mine in a cage"
- "I actually find putting my baby in washing machine helps. I can see her while I get in with my stuff and she stays put. #1 mum here!"
