Mother-in-law ruins gender reveal moment
Updated | By The Workzone with Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp
What's the rule after determining gender at a gender reveal party? Who hugs who first? We think it's a given...
It's never ideal to feel like you're competing with another person in your relationship.
In this case, it seemed like the classic mother-in-law/daughter-in-law out-of-bounds relationship. When a couple becomes parents, their relationship elevates in some way, and they have now taken on a new chapter in their lives—a chapter that grows their family, which is a sentimental milestone.
Not everyone understands that becoming parents is between the couple, and everyone else should enjoy this from the outskirts. Allowing the new parents to reap their glory while offering support and love.
However, some mothers-in-law need help understanding the concept.
A video shared on social media shows a couple at a gender reveal party popping the party popper to find out the gender of their baby. After the party popper sprayed out pink confetti, the couple was excited to learn that they were having a baby girl.
But things took a turn very quickly as the mother of the father-to-be jumped on him out of excitement and stole the couple's moment.
