Seven New Year's Resolutions that will change your life
Updated | By The Workzone with Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp
It's time to shake off that no-can-do attitude and make things happen for yourself this New Year.
As we bring in another year, we have to say that the pressure to get all our goals ticked off is pressuring.
This is why we feel it is important to set goals for our inner selves. Because it is that part of ourselves that will benefit the most when it comes to achieving all the other types of goals in our lives.
When we focus on achieving self care, a healthy mental state of mind, and making time for things that are important to us, then everything else will align.

Arina Negishi, a health, wellness, and lifestyle content creator, shared seven New Year's Resolutions that will change your life.
1. Stop wishing you were someone else
Far too often we compare ourselves with others and that is not good for our self-esteem. So, why not focus that attention on you and embrace who and what you are?
2. Check in with your family and friends at least once a week
Family and friend catch-ups are great for the soul and help you reset and refocus.
3. Commit to a healthier sleeping routine
Don't discount your sleep routine. Make sure to get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep.
4. Try something new each month
5. Take 10 minutes a day for self-care
6. Avoid looking at your phone as soon as you wake up.
You don't realise how looking at your phone can effect your whole day. Instead, rather write in a gratitude journal or set your intentions for the day. Even better, read some affirmations.

7. Speak kindly to yourself
Isn't it crazy how we are taught to speak kindly to strangers and yet we don't speak kindly to ourselves?
