Mom and baby chimp's antics will take you back to childhood
Updated | By The Workzone with Barney Simon
Footage of an intimate moment between a mother chimpanzee and her child will melt your heart.
A mother chimpanzee in Ivory Coast was spotted playing "airplane" with her baby, and it's enough to make you long for the carefree days of childhood.
The mother lies on the ground with her legs stretched straight up while the baby perches on her feet. Then the mother bounces the baby up and down, creating the fun illusion of a (rather bumpy) plane ride.
There is a big smile on the mother's face as she plays with her baby, who is also clearly enjoying the game.
When, at the end of the game, the mother lets the baby drop onto her chest and gives her a big hug, you can feel the love through the screen.
Of all the things that scientists believe human beings have in common with primates, the ability to form strong familial networks and bonds within communities has to be the most fascinating.
