This riddle proves that high-rise living is not for everyone
Updated | By The Workzone with Barney Simon
If you live alone in an apartment building that has more than two floors, you are likely to get into the same sticky situation as the man in the story below...
There is a man who lives in a high-rise apartment building. Can you figure out what is unique about how he gets to and from his apartment every day?
A man who lives on the tenth floor takes the lift down to the first floor every morning and goes to work. In the evening when he comes back, on a rainy day, or if there are other people in the lift, he goes to his floor directly. Otherwise, he goes to the seventh floor and walks up three flights of stairs to his apartment.
Can you explain why?
Hint: think about why travelling in the lift is more difficult for the man when he is alone than it is when he is carrying an umbrella.
