Subway mouse sends New Yorkers shrieking

New Yorkers like to make sure everyone knows just how tough they are, but it turns out no one in the Big Apple is above being afraid of a mouse.

Subway commuters in big cities know how to navigate even the trickiest public transport disasters, whether that involves drunk and rowdy passengers, uncomfortable cabins or any number of problems brought on by inclement weather.

But once in a while, something happens that even the most seasoned commuters can't handle. In New York, that something is rodents.

The four-legged pests are often seen scurrying through the stations, but they are soon out of sight. On this day, the mouse in question was trapped inside the train, causing a great panic among everyone in the cabin.

People scream and stomp their feet as the mouse runs back and forth, apparently looking for a way to escape. Perhaps it got left behind when its crew was making the leap from one platform to another?

The faces of the passengers that dissolved into panicked shrieks at the sight of the mouse are not shown, which is just as well: no self-respecting New Yorker would want the world to know that they are scared of a small little mouse.
