JacarandaFM launches The Sun International CEO SleepOut™
Updated | By Slindelo Masikane
250 CEO's from across the country will spend one night on the streets of Johannesburg to raise money for charity.
The Sun International CEO SleepOut™ 2016 Showcased by JacarandaFM was launched in Braamfontein on Tuesday morning.
The CEO SleepOut™ 2016 will take place on the 28th of July on the Nelson Mandela Bridge. JacarandaFM will be calling CEO’s across South Africa to rise to the challenge and participate in this year’s event which aims to raise R40million.
Each CEO will be required to nominate a top employee, a University Student and a Matric Learner to sleep out on the night, and these four individuals will be the #4Leaders4Change.
Station GM Kevin Fine said at the launch that: “The 4Leaders4Change will set the example for others to participate in the annual event, and together with Jacaranda FM be the catalyst to raising awareness of homelessness by driving a significant contribution to the beneficiaries who run sustainable education programmes.”
The sleep out raised over R26 million for Girls & Boys Town in 2015. This year's focus will be education.
In order to participate, the business leaders need to pledge R160 000.

Funds raised this year will go to the Asha Trust, Columba Leadership and Steve Biko Foundation.
Trustee at the Steve Biko Foundation Millard Arnold said he could not see how The CEO SleepOut™ was not worth doing: "This is something that is extremely important and it locks in companies at a high level to the very idea of being committed to changing South Africa," Arnold said.
