Meet Bernard Fehon - the man who started The CEO SleepOut™: will you join him on Mandela Bridge?
Updated | By Tando Ntunja
When the founder of The CEO SleepOut™ Bernard Fehon himself commits to lying on Nelson Mandela Bridge come July the 28th, you have to anticipate that this will be an epic event, no doubt.
The man who started it all in Sydney, Australia in 2006 - Founder of The CEO SleepOut™ Bernard Fehon has some sober advice to give participants ahead of this year's The Sun International CEO SleepOut™: “Have a good sleeping bag, so you don’t get too cold. I should say that people should get ready for a restless night. What I often do is that I do sleep, but I sleep many times because I wake up many times, which is the problem!"
What drives Bernard and what was the motivation behind his founding this event?: “We’re very lucky that it is only for one night and the issues that we get to contend with is something that some people have to deal with night after night, so it’s a very small insight into what it might be like to have the problem of homelessness on an ongoing basis.”
With excitement mounting over the July event, Bernard will be bring along quite the contingent to the iconic Nelson Mandela Bridge in downtown Joburg: "On the 28th of July, on Mandela Bridge: I will be there! I will be sleeping out in Sydney on the 23rd of June and I will be travelling to South Africa and my wife will be joining me, along with some of the other ambassadors from Australian event over the years.”
Bernard has called on Country Manager of Cotton On Group RSA, Johan Van Dyk to Rise Up To The Challenge #4Leaders4Change
