Swiss Ambassador HE Helene Budliger Artieda on getting children off the street through education
Updated | By Tando Ntunja
The challenges linked to homelessness are often resolved through access to opportunity and education for self-empowerment. Learn how Swiss Ambassador to South Africa HE Helene Budliger Artieda sees the link between homelessness and education ahead of The Sun International CEO SleepOut™.
The Sun International CEO SleepOut™ is an unprecidented fundraiser in South Africa that not only calls on corporate leaders to Rise Up To The Challenge #4Leaders4Change, but is also seeing a stream of prominent diplomats take part.
Swiss Ambassador to South Africa HE Helene Budliger Artieda is no different: “Education is the game changer. Let’s get people and especially children off the street, into schools and on track for a better future.”
HE Budliger Artieda anticipates that the night of Thursday the 28th July won't be easy: “I think for me, it’s going to be a challenge: it’s not something I do very often, so I’m looking forward to the personal challenge, to see if I have the stamina to do it. And then I’m also ready to meet all the other CEOs and have a conversation with them. But I think the most important thing for me is to raise awareness for this fantastic cause.”
Ambassador Budliger Artieda has called on Benoit Araman, MD of Oryx Oil South Africa and prominent human rights activist and writer, Elinor Sisulu To Rise Up To The Challenge #4Leaders4Change
