The Sun International CEO SleepOut™ may well be an unprecidented fundraiser in a South African context, but what is the CEO of MCC Justin Colling's motivation for joining in?: “I think that in the world, nothing is for nothing. It’s a great opportunity for us to give back something to the community and those that are less fortunate than us, to help our country and our nation.”
Justin expands on the importance of skilling human resources in business: “The success of our business depends on our people and how we treat them, how we educate them and how empower them; it will make for a better company and a better country.”
Justin is CEO of Eqstra's Contract Mining, Plant Leasing & Rental division called MCC. He holds a National Diploma in Civil Engineering and has more than twenty years of experience in the mining and construction industries, including eleven years contract mining in Africa and five years in Asia and Indonesia.
Justin joined PT Leighton Contractors Indonesia as General Manager Mining in 2010 and was appointed President Director the following year. Prior to that he was an executive director of Moolmans South Africa.
Justin's leadership approach is to drive change through developing and growing the employees and their skill sets, creating a 'win-win' culture and ensuring performance excellence and efficiencies are achieved by having the best team and most effective fleet mix.
