Gauteng warned of severe thunderstorms

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning of severe thunderstorms for parts of Gauteng.
It follows heavy rains and flooding in Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni and Tshwane yesterday.
The SAWS warned of severe thunderstorms over Emfuleni and Midvaal moving north between 2.00pm and 9.00pm.
Heavy rain, flash floods, hail and strong winds have been forecast.
Weather forecaster Dipuo Tawana says: "We have issued the alert for Ekurhuleni. At the moment, there is severe thunderstorms - with heavy downpour, strong damaging winds and hail - over Kempton Park and Benoni."

Yesterday's flash floods in Johannesburg claimed the lives of four people - with the search for a three-year-old girl suspended until tomorrow morning.
The house of little Everlate Chauke and her parents was flooded due to the heavy rain.
Everlate fell from her father's arms when they climbed a tree to escape the water and she was then swept away.
