Ever wanted to know what happens to your body after just TWO days of no showering?
Updated | By Lee-Roy Wright
We all know that currently we are facing water restrictions, so yes, we try to cut down where we can. However, there are certain things that happen to your body when you don't wash it. Gross!
If you ever thought that a little bit of dirt never did no harm, maybe you should think again. It appears that not taking a shower for just two short days, can have a big result - and it's not pretty!
As humans, we are known to regularly give ourselves a wash, most do it at least once a day, others maybe twice and yes, there are some who skip a few days.
However, what you're about to read might just make you think twice about skipping a hose down of some sort.
Our bodies have roughly about 1000 different types of bacteria and somewhat 40 different types of fungus. Yes, we know what you're thinking, but it's true! It's okay though, they help us keep clean and it's part of us being human.
What's the catch you may ask? Well, they need some help. This help comes in the form of showers, gels and soaps, you know, things that keep us clean. Put it this way, as humans we come into contact with all different kinds of germs and bacteria everyday and what happens when you don't bath or shower or even refrain from something as simple as washing your hands, these different bacteria go 'crazy'. They start to thrive.
So then if we don't wash, what gives off the 'smell' or yucky body odor? Well, once you actually think about this, it might gross you out. These 'smells' come from the gases given off by the bacteria that are actually feasting on your body protein and fatty acids. EW!
On that note, we're not here to spoil your day, rather just to remind you that when you smell, little critters are actually eating away at your body. So WASH. Please!
