Last minute New Year’s Eve party ideas

Last minute New Year’s Eve party ideas

With so much planning going into organising Christmas celebrations, sometimes there isn't much time left for organising the perfect New Year's Eve party.

New Year

So just in case you haven’t planned anything yet, this is what you can do to celebrate the New Year:

Braai at home

Nothing beats welcoming the New Year surrounded by your loved ones over a braai. The good thing about a braai is that it doesn't require a whole lot of work. All you will need is lots of meat, a salad or two, pap or rolls, drinks, and you are ready to go.

Try a local restaurant

Don’t feel like cooking? The good thing about having a party at a local restaurant is that you don’t have to worry about cooking and the stress that comes with hosting a party at your own place. You won’t even have to worry about tiding up and doing the dishes.

Visit places that have gatherings for the countdown

Places like Melrose Arch and Montecasino have gatherings for the countdown to the New Year. So if you don’t feel like hosting a party in your own home, you can simply go to places like these and have lots of fun with your friends.

Throw a bring-and-share party

One of the things that can ease the stress of having a last-minute party is throwing one where everyone is encouraged to bring something and you just share. This will not only save you time, but will also save you money. Just remember to ask everyone to let you know what they will be bringing, to avoid having too much of the same thing.
