Marsh Africa's CEO Jurie Erwee is a man who keeps things simple; a strategy that will hopefully drive the kind of change needed from The Sun International CEO SleepOut™: “Being in the insurance industry, I would really like to encourage all the insurance leaders in South Africa, to join the movement and in a collaborative effort, let’s all make a difference: that would be my challenge to all out there.”
As head of Marsh Africa, Jurie oversees the firm’s interest in eight countries in sub-Saharan Africa with a staff complement of 1 200. He is also the Marsh & McLennan Companies Country Corporate Officer for South Africa.
He previously held the position of CEO of Alexander Forbes Risk & Insurance Services (Pty) Limited, incorporating the group’s Broking , Risk Advisory and Insurance interest in Africa.
Jurie serves on the board of the Financial Intermediaries Association of SA (FIA). He has 30 years’ experience in both the regional and international insurance industry.
Jurie holds a degree in Economics from the University of Stellenbosch and is a fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London.
