Saturday's star-studded line-up saw Monark, Die Tuindwergies, Blackbyrd, Riana Nel, Steve Hofmeyr, Theuns Jordaan and Bok van Blerk – representing one of the most exciting entertainment rosters in the history of the event.

The show was opened by pop newcomers, Monark who set the perfect tone for the day. The audience were treated to more than they’d bargained for when Watershed frontman Craig Hinds joined Blackbyrd on stage singing some of the two groups’ more popular hits.

The crowds later enjoyed pop legend Steve Hofmeyr signing a rock and country medley from across the decades, with songs like Don’t You Feel like Crying and Sweet Caroline; throwing into the mix his own hits from the past 25 years.

Afrikaans crooner Theuns Jordaan wowed the audience with one of the most distinct voices in the industry with favourites like Sal Jy Bly. The event also marked the last opportunity to see Pretoria rock outfit Die Tuindwergies perform together before going on hiatus. Bok van Blerk mixed it up with reggae and some of his popular hits, fittingly sending the crowd home on a high with Steek Die Vure Aan.

Other Jacaranda Day highlights included The Martin Bester Drive introducing swimwear model Larah Visser (pictured)  from Hartebeespoort to the crowd as this week’s Find Me Love candidate. Johanna Maepa from Mamelodi was handed a gift to the value of R 24 000 by Piet van Vuuren on behalf of SPAR, and Dianne Broodryk for Good Morning Angels.

Jacaranda FM’s general manager, Kevin Fine noted on the day, "This was literally the lekkerest day. A huge thanks to all those who turned out in the perfect African sunshine; the artists whose performances were superb, and of course, SPAR and the City of Tshwane, without whom we could not make this day possible."
