Motshekga says millions of rand needed for Vuwani schools

The Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, has described Vuwani as a disaster area. Motshegka was addressing the media ahead of her budget vote in Parliament on Tuesday and said she wants money from government to help rebuild the 24 schools torched by residents. The protest stricken area was shut down last week, following a court decision to dismiss the case by Vuwani residents against the Municipal Demarcation Board, which decided to amalgamate the Vuwani area with Malamulele under one municipality.
