ANC takes to the streets of Cape Town

The ANC is hosting what the party has dubbed a 'People’s Assembly' at the Grand Parade in Cape Town, as South Africa gears up for President Jacob Zuma’s State of the Nation Address. “The People’s Assembly is a gathering of ANC supporters that have convened to hear President Zuma outline the interventions to fulfil our social contract with the masses of our people through the State of the Nation Address,” the party says.

Scores of supporters have gathered at Grand Central Parade, sporting ANC regalia and chanting as they kick off proceedings.
ANC heavyweights are expected address the crowd later on.
