World leaders set to attend Mam' Winnie's funeral

Various heads of state from around the world are expected to attend the funeral of late struggle icon Winnie Madikizela-Mandela on Saturday.

President Cyril Ramaphosa visited Mam' Winnie's place of birth in Bizana in the Eastern Cape on Tuesday.
He told the family that Madikizela-Mandela's contribution to the struggle against apartheid "transcended beyond any lines".
"She belongs to you as the Madikizela's but what you should also know is that she belongs to the country, she belongs to the whole world."

Ramaphosa said various heads of state indicated that they would pay their final respects to the struggle icon on Saturday.
"The people who are going to come to her funeral are coming from all corners of the world. They are coming from the United States, they are coming from the UK, they are coming from many countries from the African continent. And it's not only people, it is also heads of state."
