“Coronavirus jobs” in demand in South Africa

Although the employment rate continues to rise in the country, new jobs are surfacing.

The unemployment rate is currently at 41.4% in South Africa, but President Cyril Ramaphosa says jobs have been lost much like in Italy, the United Kingdom, America, Germany, and India who imposed lockdowns. 

Jobs with a lot of physical contact have been badly hit during the national lockdown. However, there are currently numerous coronavirus related jobs available in South Africa. 

These jobs include nurses, COVID safety officers, pharmacy assistants, and other opportunities in the healthcare sector.

There are also ads for sewing machine experts, which means that the making of masks and other protective equipment is in high demand.
