Friday Live: Celebrating all things Portuguese

Breakfast with Martin celebrated all things Portuguese ahead of the Springboks' clash with the Portugal national rugby team.
On Saturday, South Africa and Portugal will go head-to-head during a Test match at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.
In the spirit of celebrating rugby and other nations, Breakfast with Martin Bester invited a few Portuguese fans to spend the morning with us.

To kick things off, the team met Rui Gavina from the Casa do Poveiros Portuguese Club.
Gavina brought along some traditional Portuguese dancers from the club to dance live in studio.

Martin Bester and the team also met Portuguese singer Damian de Freitas, who’s been singing traditional Portuguese music for 50 years.
De Freitas performed a traditional Portuguese song, ‘Bailinho da Madeira’, on Breakfast with Martin Bester’s acclaimed Friday Live.

Ahead of the Springboks' game against Ireland on Saturday, July 13, Martin Bester also invited some Irish fans, who celebrated with the team.

Their visit included an Irish playlist for the morning, Guinness beer, and, of course, some traditional Irish dancing.
