A security officer and a shopper have been wounded in the robbery.

According to Jacaranda FM News, police spokesperson Dimakatso Sello says the victims are both recovering in hospital.

“It is alleged that three suspects, two men and a woman, entered the store and demanded jewellery at gunpoint. One of the employees managed to press the panic button and the suspects made away with only the jewellery that was on display.”

South Africans immediately noticed how the robbers exited the premises.

The men bypassed the security boom gate by placing a well-fitted steel ramp onto the spikes. Their vehicles then drove over it, successfully exiting with no puncture to the getaway vehicles.
