The new monarch lost his temper while signing a visitors' book on a visit to Hillsborough Castle and the pen started leaking.
"Oh God, I hate this [pen]!" Charles said. "I can't bear this bloody thing... every stinking time."
The new King also signed the date wrong in the visitors' book.

The incident occurred during his tour of the United Kingdom, which led the mourning of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
