Updated | By JacarandaFM News
The City of Johannesburg has closed the Sandton licensing centre after an employee tested positive for Covid-19.
The centre was closed on Wednesday.
The city's MMC for Public Safety Mally Mokoena says the building will be deep cleaned and disinfected.
"Furthermore, staff members from all units at the centre have been sent for screening. Those who were in direct contact with the affected employee will undergo testing while they are in self-quarantine. The employee is currently in self-isolation at home until full recovery.”
Mokoena says measures remain in place to protect employees.
“We also encourage all our employees to continue following the necessary preventative measures to stay safe, including the constant and correct wearing of face masks, hand hygiene and adherence to social distancing.”
