Good Morning Angels follow-up: Project Waterdrop

Jacaranda FM’s Project Waterdrop "Fill-up Loftus" water reaches Western Cape school children in need.

BACKGROUND: On Saturday 31 March, Jacaranda FM listeners came out in their thousands to Fill-up Loftus. They were there to support the Bulls against the Stormers but also to support Jacaranda FM’s Project Waterdrop to assist vulnerable schools in drought stricken Cape Town. We are on track to start drilling boreholes at schools towards the end of June - the more funds we have, the more schools we can help.

Listeners also collected more than 210-thousand litres of bottled water, that was transported to Cape Town by DHL and Quarto - two of the Stormers and Bulls sponsors.

Some of the water was dropped off at Magda’s Soup Kitchen in Paarl and the Saartjie Baartman Home for Women and Children in Cape Town.

The bulk of the water, was distributed to various Western Cape Education District offices, for distribution at schools in need.

This morning, we speak to one of these district managers, Benjamin Schereka, who wrote to us, to thank Jacaranda FM listeners for the welcome donation.
