Attention all drivers: Types of cars hijackers are targeting this year
As we head into the festive season of joy and happiness, we also need to stay alert at all times. Especially now, as criminal acts are on the rise.
The police have released a list of the types of vehicles most targeted for hijacking this past year.
According to the data, the most targeted type of vehicle is sedans and hatchbacks, with no less than 1 839 stolen in the first quarter of this year.

Next up on the list, we have bakkies and SUVs with 239 hijackings in the first quarter.
What’s concerning is that Gauteng is the leading province for hijackings, with a whopping 9 025 between April 2019 and March 2020.
