One of the most exciting stages in your baby's life is when they get potty trained.

Although some children might be easy to train, others take time. The important thing is to understand that children are not the same and each one learns at their own pace.

If you feel it's time to potty train your child, or your child is showing signs of being ready, below are some tips from other parents on how they trained their toddlers:

"I would frequently go to the loo, sit on my toilet seat and put her on her potty next to me. Then I'd encourage her to wee with me. It was fun." - Zanele Mochechela.

"It was a nightmare, but the trick was doing a celebration every time he went to the toilet." - Tamlyn Canham

"I used to put the potty where they could see it and I'd constantly ask them to pee." - Ephodia Photo

"I stopped putting nappies on them and would buy them nice underwear, preferably of their favourite cartoon. I'd then ask them not to pee on their favourite cartoon and the trick worked." - Elsie Mojapelo.

Remember to make them wee first thing in the morning and after giving them water.

Although they might not get it right the first few times, eventually they will!
