Celine Dion talks about her pain in 'Courage' short film

The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ singer spoke about the pain of living without her husband René Angélil.

“Sometimes we are stronger than we think” – these are the words of Celine Dion looking back at how she managed to find the courage to go on after the death of René.

René Angélil died in 2016.

“We were one, so when he passed away, I kinda felt that for a moment that there was just one half of me,” said the singer in the short film based on her new album, ‘Courage’. 

Celine said the experience of recording the album without René, who was also her producer, was tough on her. 

“It was really hard because this is my first English album without René,” she said. 

But, the singer said: “I’ve decided to rebuild my second half.”

She had to tell herself words like, “I’m a warrior, I’m a mother, I have strength and I’m gonna show them that I can do this.”

Celine then recorded and released ‘Courage’ in November 2019. 

The album shot to number one on the Billboard 200 charts.
