Lana Del Rey recently became a victim of crime.

Taking to social media, the singer revealed that a few months ago her car was broken into while she was in Los Angeles.

"A few months ago, I parked my car on Melrose Place and I stepped away from it for a minute and the one time I left my backpack inside my car, someone broke all the windows," she said in a video posted on Twitter.

She says the thief stole her backpack which had her laptop inside.

"Inside of it was my computer, and my three camcorders and my hard drives."

Sadly, the stolen equipment contained her music and a manuscript of the book she was working on.

"I had to remotely wipe the computer that had my 200 page book for Simon and Schuster which I didn't have backed up on a cloud because we do not have any cloud systems that we access," she said.

As a result of the robbery, she says her music has been leaked online.

"Despite that, people are still able to remotely access my phone and leak our songs and personal photos," she said.

However, the good news is that the star says there is no stopping her. She will be releasing new music soon.

"I just want to mention that despite all this happening, I am confident in the record to come and despite  so many safety factors and so many different levels, I really want to persist and make the best art I can," she said.
