Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus are dropping new songs on the same day, but there is no rivalry between these former Disney stars.

Two months after sharing pictures of herself in a recording studio in Paris, Selena announced the release of a brand new single.

The 31-year-old's first solo song in almost a year will be called, 'Single Soon'. The track drops on Friday, August 25.

Selena shared news about the new offering on her Instagram page. She also revealed that her upcoming fourth studio album will be called 'SG3'.

"Y’all have been asking for new music for a while. Since I’m not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer. SINGLE SOON," she wrote.

Selena's fans are eager to see which artists she will collaborate with on the album. Rumours were swirling a few months ago that she was working on a song with Zayn Malik after they were spotted out together.

But that seems unlikely after they unfollowed each other on Instagram.  Fans are also crossing fingers that Selena's best friend, Taylor Swift, features on the album.

Miley's new song,  'Used To Be Young', also has an August 25 release date.  The 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker explained why she chose the date in a video she shared on Instagram.

"I decided to release ‘Used To Be Young’ on August 25 because this particular date historically has been important to me personally and in my career," Miley said.
