80’s SA music gets a new life in the new Afrikaans movie, Kanarie.

Kanarie (Afrikaans for Canary) is a coming-of-age musical war drama, set in South Africa in the 80s, about a young boy who discovers how through hardship, camaraderie, first love, and the liberating freedom of music, the true self can be discovered.
Germandt Geldenhuys, who many will recognize from Afrikaans soap Binnelanders, stars in the film and joined Carla Mackenzie to chat about the movie, it's significance and possibly venturing into music in 2019.
