Six people have been injured, including four children, after a fire broke out in a block of flats in Hillbrow earlier this afternoon.
Several residents of the building were found walking on the sidewalk on Claim Street when emergency and fire services arrived on scene.
Two floors of the building were on fire.
ER24's Russel Meiring said while firefighters battled the blaze, paramedics attended to the patients.
"Paramedics found that two adults and four children had suffered minor to mild smoke inhalation," said Meiring, adding, "no serious or fatal injuries were reported."
He said they were treated on the scene before they were transported to hospital.
Firefighters managed to exstinguish the blaze while authorities are looking into the cause of the fire.
