Three men arrested for trafficking 57 children from Malawi

Three suspects aged 25 to 36 have been arrested on charges of human trafficking.
Acting National Police Commissioner General Kgomotso Phahlane says the three Malawian men were stopped while travelling in a truck in Rustenburg at the weekend.
Police found 57 children from Malawi in the back of the truck.

Phahlane says the men couldn't provide any documentation for the 18 girls and 39 boys.
Phahlane says the children are being assessed by the Department of Social Development and kept in a safe house.
He says the three suspects have already appeared at the Rustenburg Magistrates Court.
The case was postponed to 13 September. The suspects were remanded in custody.
