Tiger Woods hits golf ball across two continents
Updated | By Neo Leeuw
Woods, who will play in this week's Turkish Airlines Open in Antalya, Turkey, teed up a few balls on the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul. The bridge spans the Bosphorus Strait, which connects Europe and Asia.
“To be the first golfer to do this was very cool,” Woods said in a release. “I have really enjoyed my visit to Istanbul. To see the Bosphorus for the first time was a very enjoyable and memorable experience.”
During the promotional event, one direction of the bridge was closed for 20 minutes. Thousands of people lined up to watch Woods hit balls while two directions of traffic continued on the other half of the bridge.
