Wits students plan to continue protests
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Students want to shut down institutions of higher learning in Johannesburg with the help of unions.

According to student leaders at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), they have approached several unions, including metalworkers union Numsa, to join students in a 'Fees Must Fall' march.
Students marched to Cosatu House last week.
Student leader Busiswe Seabe said they will be meeting with unions at 2.00pm to receive feedback after they asked for their support.
"We are mobilising parents as well for our assembly on Thursday. We have called a student and parent assembly ahead of the poll the university wants to send out for Monday," she said.
Former Wits SRC President, Mcebo Dlamini said they have problems with the poll.
Wits wants to run a poll to determine whether students and staff want academic activities to resume.
